Day One & Two
Begin your journey in the evening for your journey to Bangkok, Thailand. Sit back, relax, and enjoy your flight before arriving for your big adventure!
Day Three
Welcome to Bangkok! This afternoon, take a longtail boat through Bangkok’s canals to discover the true heart of the city. Start with a ride along the Chao Phraya River, also known as the ‘River of Kings’. Admire the passing skyline where glittering pagodas stand in the shadows of towering skyscrapers. The boat then turns off the main waterway and onto the canals, or ‘klongs’. See why Bangkok is often called the ‘Venice of the East’, while cruising along the intricate network of canals. Capture glimpses of small villages on the water’s edge and enjoy the slower pace of life away from the city centre. Make a stop at the Royal Barge Museum. See the eight spectacular boats used by Thailand’s Royal Family to mark special occasions. Carved from teak and intricately decorated with gold leaf and mosaics, the barges are a truly impressive site. Then return to the boat and cruise back onto the Chao Phraya for one final stop.
Day Four
Travel away from Bangkok’s city centre for a visit to local markets and countryside neighbourhoods. Take a one-hour drive, leaving the high-rises behind and entering a land of lush landscapes and traditional wooden houses.
Stop at a local railway station where a bustling country market has sprouted up along the tracks. As a train pulls into the station, witness the vendors quickly clearing their stalls off the railway. Then, after the train departs, watch them set up shop and resume business as usual.
From here, continue to Coconut Garden to see how sugar is produced locally then we head to the famous Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Although these days the stalls are mostly selling items for tourists, the Damnoen Saduak remains the best example of a traditional floating market. Take a stroll around and admire the floating shops, many of which are selling fresh fruits and typical Thai snacks.
Leave the main market area and take a relaxing paddle boat ride. Pass by an old section of the floating market and enter a labyrinth of quiet canals. See houses built alongside the waterways and catch glimpses of local life in this rural Thai province.
Next is a Dinner Cruise on Private Patravadi Show Boat! Experience the romantic Bangkok evening in style on the luxury Patravadi Show Boat. Enjoy 2 hours of the private cruising along Chao Phraya River with authentic Thai dinner and free-flow soft drinks. We will pass the city’s glittering sights. From the stunning Temple of Dawn, the illuminated Grand Palace, magnificent temples, striking bridges and other Bangkok’s landmarks, the cruise offers a perfectly memorable relaxing night experience in Bangkok.
Day Five
This morning, we will visit The Royal Grand Palace which is one of the most beautiful ancient Siamese courts. It used to be the residence of the Kings of Thailand and it is also home to the beautiful Emerald Buddha Temple. Also, visit the Reclining Buddha, Wat Pho and Wat Traimit, the temple of the Golden Buddha. This temple is famous for its 900-years old five-and-a-half-ton solid gold Buddha. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Cambodia! Transfer to your hotel and settle in.
Day Six
Today we tour Angkor Wat - billed the 8th wonder of the world and is the largest reilgious monument in the world. We will visit the ancient capital of Angkor Tho with its huge statues, the Bayon Temple, unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara, the Phimeanakas, the Royal Enclosure, the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King.
We will also visit Ta Prohm, one of the area’s most beautiful temples. Ta Prohm has been relatively untouched since it was discovered and retains much of its mystery, and the most famous of all the temples of Angkor Wat. The temple complex covers 200 acres and is comparable in size to the Imperial Palace in Beijing. Enjoy a wonderful sunset from the top of Pre Rup Temple. Dinner with traditional Dance Show at a local restaurant.
Day Seven
Today is elephant day! Experience the elephants at a wonderful sanctuary in Cambodia. Next, drive to Kampong Phluck, then board a private, local wooden vessel for a boat trip along a canal that leads to the Tonle Sap Lake. As we cruise along the canal you will see houses on either side: depending on the time of the visit, the houses will either have immediate access to the water or stand perched on stilts high above the ground, a phenomena caused by the annual rising and receding waters of the Tonle Sap Lake, Southeast Asia’s largest lake. Pass by the boats and nets used by local fishermen, some of whom will be fishing in the waters through which the boat passes. Nearing the lake, see floating houses that move location with the annual ebb and flow of the lake’s waters. Transfer to the airport to fly to Hanoi.
Day Eight
Enjoy touring Hanoi today! Start by visiting Tran Quoc pagoda, Quan Thanh pagoda, West Lake, you also will see Truc Bach lake where we call B52 lake, Hoa Lo prison, Temple of Literature - the first university of Vietnam. Afternoon, the tour begins with the Ethnology Museum where contains more than 10,000 objects, 15,000 black and white photos and hundreds of video tapes and cassettes which depict all aspects of life, activities, customs, and habits of the 54 ethnic groups of Vietnam. You are presented the Vietnam daily life in the past and present within 1 hours cyclo tour around the Hoan Kiem lake, Ngoc Son temple and Old quarter streets, Dong Xuan market. Enjoy a water puppet show in the evening.
Day Nine
This morning the tour guide and driver will pick you up at the hotel & transfer to Halong Bay. Enjoy the landscape of the Red River Delta countryside on the way. Then, it's time to cruise along Halong Bay!
A delicious lunch will be served in the restaurant while the cruise is passing Chan Voi, Van Boi and the Tra Bau area. Enjoy some optional kayaking or swimming as you discover Tra Bau or Van Boi. This is the most ideal paradise for swimming. After dinner, it’s your choice for squid fishing, spa, karaoke or just relaxing and enjoying the views!
Day Ten
Greet the new day on the sundeck while cruising further to Hang Sang–Hang Toi–one of the best attractions on Lan Ha Bay which is known for its pristine and tranquil beauty. Explore the area by local boat.
For lunch, a Vietnamese cuisine buffet is served at the restaurant while the boat heads back to the harbor.
Disembark at the harbor and then transfer back to Hanoi for your flight to Saigon! (Ho Chih Minh City).
Day Eleven
Today we will transfer to the Mekong Delta and board a river cruise in Cần Thơ and depart down the Bassac River. The Bassac enters the Nicolai Canal towards the Măng Thít River and the Cổ Chiên River. Rest on the deck savoring the landscape of rice paddies, sugar cane, and wooded banks.
In the middle of the afternoon, the Bassac drops anchor for a wonderful visit ashore: behind the curtain of trees, enjoy the discovery of the peaceful life of the Vietnamese countryside. Enjoy spectacular rice fields, fruit trees and welcoming residents, or, enjoy an optional short bike ride.
