Day One
Depart from Salt Lake City on a non-stop Delta flight and travel to Paris, arrive the next morning.
Day Two
Welcome to Paris! This morning we start our panoramic tour!
Today, enjoy the beautiful sites of Paris - Travel to Trocadero plaza, Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame site & St Chappelle.
Day Three
Today, we will visit the Louvre, the world's most-visited museum. After lunch, enjoy a driving tour of the city (Include Plaza de la Concorde, opera house, La madeleine, inside Invalides, Montmartre). Tonight, enjoy an evening river dinner cruise on the Seine.
Day Four
Depart Paris and venture north along the Seine River Valley to the place of inspiration to the great artist Monet in Giverny. Next venture to the city of Rouen, the tragic site where Joan of Arc was burnt at the stake. Enjoy this beautiful city with its beautiful Cathedral De Notre Dame, Eglise Sainte-Jeanne-d'Arc (site of the execution of Joan of Arc, enjoy lunch and shopping). Overnight in the enchanting harbor town of Honfleur – its narrow lanes and colorful shop fronts have long attracted artists who have immortalized its beauty on canvas. Overnight in Caen
Day Five
Our first stop will be at the Pegasus Bridge Memorial, where early on D Day, the British gliders landed and secured the important crossing sight on the Orne River. The courage of Major Howard and the Brits was truly a miracle. Next to Gold Beach with its remnants of the artificial harbor that was constructed. Overview the museum Arromanches 360 with its movie “The Price of Freedom, which overviews the events of June 6th. Continue on to Omaha Beach and remember the sacrifice that was made to take this area.
Visit the Collisville Cemetery where 9,386 boys overlook THEIR beach. Visit Pointe du Hoc, site of where the Rangers climbed the cliffs to secure the point. Next visit an often forgotten cemetery, La Cambe German Cemetery, where approximately 22,000 German soldiers are remembered. Our day will end in Sainte-Mere-Eglise, where D Day really began at 1 am in the morning when 15,000 paratroopers dropped behind enemy lines to secure the roads for those who would come later in the day. Visit the local church where a special remembrance of the day, an American dressed mannequin with parachute still hangs from the steeple today. Overnight in Caen.​
Day Six
Leave Normandy to travel south along the coast to visit Mont-Saint-Michel, a magical island topped by a gravity-defying Abbey, the Mont-Saint-Michel and its Bay counts as one of France’s most stunning sights. For centuries one of Europe’s major pilgrimage destinations, this holy island is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as is its breathtaking bay. (Don’t get caught behind the tidal surge or you will have to stay for the night.) Overnight in Caen.
Day Seven
Today we will make our way back to Paris with a wonderful stop in Chartres. Today we will visit the Chartres Cathedral. Truly stunning. Built in 1145 it is the high-water mark of French Gothic art. Arrive back in Paris.
Day Eight
A trip to France can’t be complete without a visit to the Palace of Versailles, with one of the finest collections of art in the world. Just the palace alone will take your breath away, and then add the art, and the beautiful grounds, is enough to bring out the art lover in all of us. This will be a full day visit.
Day Nine
Transfer to the airport for departure home! Welcome Home and thank you for traveling with us!
