Day One
Travel to Israel!
Day Two
Welcome to Tel Aviv, Israel! Transfer straight to your hotel to rest and overnight.
Day Three
This morning, we enter the Old City through St Stephen’s Gate, visiting the Pool of Bethesda, St Anne’s Church, the Chapel of the Flagellation, and the Ecce Homo Arch and the possible location of the Gabbatha Pavement. We continue through the Bazaar to the last stations of the Cross along the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. We then continue to the Jewish Quarter, visiting the Cardo, the wall built by King Hezekiah and the Herodian mansion. We continue to the Temple area and Mount Moriah to see the Dome of the Rock and to visit the Western (Wailing) Wall.
Day Four
Today, after breakfast, we will Drive by the Knesset to the Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Museum. Continue to the Israel Museum, visiting the Shrine of the Book where the Dead Sea Scrolls are housed and see the model of Jerusalem at the time of the Second Temple. Back to the Old City. We begin at the top of the Mt. of Olives with its outstanding views of the Holy City of Jerusalem and walk the Palm Sunday pathway visiting the Chapel of Ascension, Church of Dominus Flavit, the Church of All Nations and spend time in quiet reflection and prayer as we visit the Garden of Gethsemane. We continue to Mount Zion to visit the Upper Room and the house of Caiaphas.
Day Five
After breakfast, visit to the BYU Jerusalem Center followed by a visit to the Garden Tomb where we have an orientation beside Calvary. In the afternoon, we will continue to Bethlehem, visit Shepherd’s field and Nativity church.
Day Six
Today, after breakfast, we will check out from our hotel in Jerusalem, on the way to the dead sea area. Leave Jerusalem and drive past the Inn of the "Good Samaritan" to arrive at the shores of the Dead Sea - the lowest point on earth. We drive along the Dead Sea to Masada, the fortress where the Jewish Zealots held off the armies of the Roman Empire before choosing suicide over surrender. Afternoon, continue to your hotel in the dead sea. Enjoy the hotel facilities, floating in the dead sea, dinner and overnight. Dead Sea.
Day Seven
Today we travel to the old Roman city of Beit Shean to visit the impressive Roman Ruins. Continue to Yardenit, the Baptismal Site on the Jordan River. We will end our day in the sea of Galilee, enjoy a boat ride in the lake.
Day Eight
Today, we continue to the Mount of Beatitudes, site of the Sermon on the Mount to reflect on the serene beauty and the event that took place here. On to Tabgha, site of the Miracle of the fishes and loaves, to see the chapel built over the rock commemorating the primacy of Peter. We then visit Capernaum, the city of Jesus and Peter. There we will see the house of Peter and see an ancient synagogue, here Jesus preached, and it is here he gathered his disciples. In the afternoon we drive to Nazareth, visit the church of Annunciation and Mount of Precipice.
Day Nine
Today we travel to Mt. Tabor, visit the church of Transfiguration. Continue via the Valley of Armageddon to the excavation at Tel Megiddo. On to Muchraka, the location of Elijah's altar during his confrontation with the false prophets of Baal. n to Caesarea, built by Herod the Great in 22 B.C. Visit the Roman Theater, the Aqueduct and Herodian Port. It was here that Cornielius was baptized by Peter.
Day Ten
Transfer to the airport for your return to the United States. Thank you for traveling with us, welcome home!
