Day 1
Departure from the U.S. Embark on your transatlantic journey to Scotland, filled with anticipation for the cultural and natural wonders awaiting you. Relax during your flight, preparing for an immersive exploration of Scotland’s vibrant cities and rugged landscapes.
Day 2
Arrival in Glasgow Arrive in Glasgow, Scotland’s largest city, known for its dynamic arts scene and Victorian architecture. After settling into your accommodation, embark on a guided walking tour of the city center. Stroll along Buchanan Street, a bustling pedestrian thoroughfare lined with shops and historic buildings. Visit George Square, the heart of Glasgow, adorned with statues and surrounded by grand structures like the City Chambers. Continue to Glasgow Cathedral, a stunning example of Scottish Gothic architecture, with its intricate stained-glass windows and ancient crypt.

Day 3
Depart Glasgow for the scenic village of Luss on the shores of Loch Lomond, a serene lake framed by rolling hills. Take in the breathtaking views at the Loch Lomond View Point, where the calm waters reflect the surrounding Ben Lomond mountain. Continue to Inveraray, a picturesque town on Loch Fyne. Wander its charming streets, lined with whitewashed Georgian buildings, and visit Inveraray Castle, the ancestral home of the Duke of Argyll. Explore the castle’s opulent rooms, filled with tapestries, portraits, and antique furnishings, and stroll its manicured gardens. Next, stop at the Three Sisters in Glencoe, a dramatic trio of rugged peaks in the Highlands, perfect for photos and soaking in the wild beauty. Arrive at the Glencoe Visitors Center to learn about the area’s geology, history, and the infamous 1692 massacre. End your day in Fort William, a gateway to the Highlands nestled at the foot of Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest peak. Spend the night surrounded by the town’s cozy charm and mountain views.
Day 4
Begin your day at the Glenfinnan Aqueduct, an impressive 18th-century structure set against a backdrop of lush hills, famously featured in the Harry Potter films as part of the Hogwarts Express route. Continue to Eilean Donan Castle, one of Scotland’s most iconic landmarks, perched on a small island where three lochs meet. Explore the castle’s restored interiors, including the grand banqueting hall, and enjoy the scenic views across the water. Next, visit Urquhart Castle on the banks of Loch Ness. Wander through the ruins of this 13th-century fortress. Conclude your day in Inverness, the vibrant capital of the Highlands, where you’ll spend the night exploring its riverside charm and historic streets.
Day 5
Start at Culloden Battlefield, the site of the 1746 Jacobite uprising’s final battle. Walk the moor where history unfolded, visit the immersive visitor center, and see memorials honoring the fallen. Next, explore Cawdor Castle, a 14th-century stronghold with a fairy-tale charm, surrounded by lush gardens and linked to Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Discover its elegant rooms, ancient drawbridge, and whimsical grounds, including a maze and walled garden. Return to Inverness for some free time to wander the Old Town, browse local shops, or visit the Inverness Museum and Art Gallery. Later, journey to Dunrobin Castle, the stately home of the Earls of Sutherland. Marvel at its French chateau-inspired architecture, explore its lavish interiors, and stroll the falconry displays in the formal gardens. Return to Inverness for another night in this lively Highland city.
Day 6
Travel to the Highland Folk Museum, an open-air living history museum in Newtonmore. Wander through recreated Highland villages, from 18th-century thatched cottages to early 20th-century schoolhouses, and engage with costumed interpreters showcasing traditional crafts and lifestyles. Continue to Pitlochry, a charming Victorian town nestled in the Perthshire hills. Explore its quaint streets, lined with independent shops and historic distilleries. Next, visit Scone Palace, the historic crowning place of Scottish kings, including Macbeth and Robert the Bruce. Tour the palace’s grand state rooms, filled with antiques and royal artifacts, and wander its expansive grounds, home to peacocks and a star-shaped maze. End your day in Perth, a historic city on the River Tay. Enjoy a walking tour of its highlights, including St. John’s Kirk and the Black Watch Museum, and take in panoramic views from Kinnoull Hill if time allows. Spend the night in Perth’s welcoming atmosphere.
Day 7
Journey to St Andrews, the historic coastal town known as the birthplace of golf. Explore the ruins of St Andrews Cathedral, once Scotland’s largest. Arrive in Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital, and visit the National Galleries of Scotland, home to masterpieces from Renaissance to modern times. Admire the Gothic elegance of the Scott Monument, dedicated to Sir Walter Scott, and relax in the lush Princes Street Gardens, nestled beneath Edinburgh Castle. Enjoy a free evening to explore the, shops, or live music venues, and spend the night in Edinburgh.
Day 8
Begin with a panoramic tour of Edinburgh, showcasing its contrasting Old and New Towns, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Marvel at the medieval charm of the Royal Mile, the Georgian elegance of New Town, and the dramatic Calton Hill with its monuments and city views. Visit Edinburgh Castle, perched atop Castle Rock, and explore its treasures, including the Scottish Crown Jewels, the Stone of Destiny, and the historic Great Hall. Spend a free afternoon and evening discovering more of the city—perhaps the atmospheric Grassmarket, the literary haven of the Writers’ Museum, or the vibrant Leith waterfront.
Day 9
Departure to the U.S. Bid farewell to Scotland as you depart from Edinburgh for your return flight to the U.S. Reflect on your journey through the Highlands, historic castles, and vibrant cities, carrying home memories of Scotland’s timeless beauty and rich heritage. Welcome home!
