Day One
Transfer to the airport and fly to Peru! Overnight in Lima.

Day Two
Early morning flight to Cusco! Your exploration of this remarkable city takes place with an expert-guided Cusco tour today. You will visit many of the amazing archaeological sites and wonders in and around the city, including the Cusco Cathedral, the ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Q’enko, Puka Pukara, and Tambomachay. (Breakfast)

Day Three
Sit back as you are transferred to the Sacred Valley with a visit to Awnacancha and Cochahuasi along the way to learn about local culture. Explore the beautiful Peruvian countryside with a tour of the magical Sacred Valley.

 

You will visit the town of Pisac, famous for its bustling market. Here you will have the opportunity to browse the beautiful handicrafts and Andean garments displayed for sale. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Day Four
This morning, head to the bus station in Aguas Calientes for a 20-minute ride up to the secluded citadel of Machu Picchu. Meet your expert English-speaking guide for a tour of the most important sites in Machu Picchu, including the Intihuatana (Sun Stone), the Sun Temple, and the Room of Three Windows.

Later you will take a comfortable train ride to Cusco where you’ll be taken to  your hotel to

spend the night. (Breakfast)

Day Five
Fly to Iquitos, Peru in the early afternoon and overnight in Iquitos.

Day Six
You will go up the Amazon river by boat to the Heliconia Amazon River Lodge. Sit back and take in life on the river as you transfer to your lodge. You’ll see little wooden boats along the way that locals use to get up and down the river. Upon arrival to the lodge, get settled in and take a dip in the pool. This jungle paradise will be your home for the next couple of nights. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day Seven
While at the lodge, there are many activities to participate in that are included. Some of these include, jungle walks with expert guides to show you the many uses of jungle plants and wildlife, spotting pink dolphins on the Amazon River, fishing for piranhas and much more! There is nothing like being on the Amazon River for a sunset cruise. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day Eight

Spend more time at the lodge today taking excursions or just relaxing. This afternoon transfer back to Iquitos andgo back down the river back to Iquitos where you will fly to Lima and then on to SLC. (Breakfast)
